Our final day in Tromsø before our flight home was spent as tourists. We went back to Polaria to play with the seals and absorb the aquatic Arctic life. We then had to make a pit stop at the Mack brewery pub to sample a few of the finest local ales.
Back in our cosy hotel we quickly collected our things together and sat chatting with the lovely hotel staff until it was time to leave our temporary home in this amazing place at the top of the world.
Tina and I dreamt up Switching Heads – sound mapping the […] over a year ago in response to our shared love of art, environment, knowledge and adventure. We have of course faced challenges along the way but our shared determination and belief in each other and our project drove us to embark on such a fantastic adventure.
We would like to say a huge thank you to our friends and family, to everyone who has encouraged and supported our idea and to all of the people of Tromsø who shared your time, energy, skills and stories with us. The warmth and generosity that you all have shared with us through every stage of Switching Heads – sound mapping the Arctic has been incredible, inspiring and humbling. We are immensely grateful to you all.
Back at home with countless hours of footage, all our fingers, toes and our head mould still intact (just about), and many, many new friends we now can only move FRAM (forward).
